Lazy Orchestra Girl: I don't think I'm going to the concert.
Maestro: Well, what's up? You know it's like you final exam for the class.
LOG: I don't know where it is.
M: It's in the theater at Crosstown High School.
LOG: I don't know where that is.
M: I handed out a piece of paper that had all the info on it.
LOG: But it doesn't say where the school is.
M: It says that it's on the corner of 7th street and Magnolia
LOG: My mom says that we can't find corners on the GPS. We need an address.
M: Can you find our school?
LOG: Huh?
M: Well you know how to find this school right?
LOG: Yeah.
M: I included a map that shows you how to get from this school to Crosstown School.
LOG: No one told me.
M: It was on the paper I gave you - no one needed to tell you.
LOG: ....we don't have an address...
M: Okay, maybe I should have put the actual address on it - but I assumed everyone knows where Crosstown School is. You could have probably used Google to find it.
LOG: My mom won't let me use her computer.
M: Then maybe she can find it.
LOG: . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
(I disappear for my office for two minutes and come back)
M: Here (handing a piece of paper to LOG) the address is 300 Magnolia.
LOG: I don't know where that is.
M: You have an address now - you can use your GPS.
LOG: What if I lose it?
M: I'll e-mail it to your mom, and I'll post it on our web page.
LOG: . . . . Okay I'll call my mom.....

Redemption
So today I decided to apologize to the kid I blew up at yesterday. I tried not to make excuses or hide my apology under a blanket of "even though it's your fault I got angry." I also decided to do it publicly in front of the whole class, since yesterday's incident was just as public. It just felt right.
I felt some of the weight on my psyche lift. I'm still pretty depressed about the stolen microphones, though. If only I had moved the damn bag from my car into the house like I was supposed to.... Ugh.
Anyway, I got a little care package today that lifted my spirits: A brand new $800 camcorder I bought for the music program.
